The “Strandvejen” (Beach road) follows the beach from Copenhagen to Helsingør (Elsinore). Hellerup is a part of the Gentofte municipality. Where the road passes through Hellerup it cuts through elegant (very posh and expensive) houses with flats and shops. I call it the Strip because during my time in the US in 1972 we often went cruizing on the “strip” in San Leandro where the muscle cars cruised back and forth to be seen. You get the same perception in the Hellerup Strip where it feels like the Porche and Maserati cars are cruising back and forth to be seen as well. It is a very busy road with a very distinct feel I haven’t experienced anywhere else in Denmark.
